"I had the chance to attend the Streamer Camp 2025 overnight. Put simply, it was incredible and I highly recommend. More specifically, the Golden Fly shop staff were super helpful, knowledgeable, kind and accommodating, and the food was just fantastic too. Shout out Julian. We did the event with CRO (Colorado River Outfitters), and if you’ve gone out with them before, then you already know how great they are. I can’t recommend any trip with Golden fly shop enough. "I was fortunate enough to join the recent trip to the Naknek River in Alaska. A trip like this, with the chance to chase 30” rainbow trout, has always been on my bucket list.
Katmai National Park is so special. Not only experiencing the bears, but then topping it off with huge Rainbow trout fishing. It was so enjoyable for me that I went back for a second day. Each day I was able to hook large Rainbows in the 24 inch range. On my second visit I netted a total of 28 trout, AWESOME!!!
In addition to the amazing trout fishing, on day three, it was my pleasure to land a 38 inch Northern Pike. Truly a trophy fish for me.
The weather was incredible and actually a little too nice for Salmon fishing. Although the Silver Salmon fishing was good, next years dates might add some advantage to more Silver Salmon action.
The Naknek lodge offers very good accommodations with great food. Jim Johnson and his family are tremendous hosts and want to make every anglers experience special. They are amazing!!!
I will be returning for the 2026 trip and encourage anglers of all levels, who want to experience Alaska and all of the fish species available, to make this trip!!!"

"My brother and I just recently returned from a Fly Fishing trip to Alaska hosted by Xavier of the Golden Fly Shop in Golden, Colorado. This trip was outstanding. The lodging and food service was awesome. We fished for salmon, trout, and northern pike. We all caught many fish on our fly rods. I have been fishing since I was 10 years old and I saw more fish and more fish jumping than I have in my last 65 years. The fishing guides were knowledgeable and always kept the bears away from us. We enjoyed this experience so much, we have booked our Alaska Fly Fishing trip again next year.
