The 9'6" 6wt Winston Air 2 is the shop's favorite boat road when nymphing and hopper-dropper fishing. This rod has a ton of life and delicacy to protect light tippet, but has thorough backend power to turn over heavy rigs and horse in big trout. Reach casts, mending, and tippet protection are all huge perks to this rod. Although this rod on paper may seem like a stillwater rod, the on water performance in such venues is lackluster.
