Fly Fishing the Eagle River, Colorado

Rating: 4/5

Current River Conditions

December 3, 2024

The Eagle is flowing about its annual average and is certainly fish well right now. Midges are the only hatch nowadays, but fish are happily eating these tiny bugs. Nymphing will be your best friend right now, fishing small stoneflies, eggs, and midges would be our recommendation. The dry fly action has been fantastic on non-windy days as well! There will be ice beginning to form on the river, so get it while you can.
